Description

Low shrub with a cluster of slender, unbranched stems to 30 cm tall. Leaves dull and rough-textured with serrated margins. Flower small, 5-petaled, pink or white. Red berries, usually not abundant, occur singly next to the stem.

Upland hardwood forests

Comments

Only a few records, possibly can prevent establishment. Spreads by suckers. Poor competitor, colonizes species-poor shady environs
