INSTRUCTIONS

This folder contains Version 5.X of the Florida Forever Conservation Needs
Assessment data compiled or developed by FNAI. Detailed documentation
is provided in the Summary and Technical Reports available at https://www.fnai.org/conslands/florida-forever.
Using these data layers requires ESRI ArcGIS with the Spatial Analyst Extension.
The information is found in the zipped file:

1) Data layers
This folder contains a raster file of one of the following Florida Forever Conservation Needs Assessment data layers:
Prioritized Strategic Habitat Conservation Areas (shca_yr)
FNAI Habitat Conservation Priorities (fnaihab_yr)
Ecological Greenways (grnway_yr)
Under-represented Natural Communities (natcom_yr)
Natural Floodplain (floodpl_yr)
Significant Surface Waters (surfwatr_yr)
Fragile Coastal Resources (coastal_yr)
Functional Wetlands (wetlands_yr)
Recharge Potential (recharge_yr)
Sustainable Forestry (forestry_yr)
Forest Lands to Maintain Recharge Function (forrech_yr)

NOTE:The original source data for Strategic Habitat Conservation Areas is available from the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute. The original source data for Ecological Greenways may be found at www.fgdl.org.

NOTE: Two data layers are not currently available:
Cultural Resources: This data set is maintained by Department of State/Division of Historical Resources and because of the sensitive nature of the resource, not available to the general public.
Recreational Trails: Users may download the latest version of the Office of Greenways and Trails GIS data at https://floridadep.gov/parks/ogt/content/florida-greenways-and-trails-system-plan-and-maps

NOTE: Several other goals and measures of the Florida Forever program are addressed using various GIS methods to evaluate Florida Forever projects, rather than a statewide data layer. See the Florida Forever Conservation Needs Assessment Technical Report for details on methods related to Large Landscapes and Sea Level Rise Mitigation.

The Conservation Needs Assessment data are updated and revised as better information becomes available. Check our website for updates.

A new collection number is assigned to the entire set of Needs Assessment data irregularly, typically every few years following substantive updates to individual datasets. In any single year only some of the datasets will be revised.

2) Metadata
ArcGIS metadata is included. The metadata may reference specific reports where data development procedures are documented.

3) Legends
A layer file is provided, which corresponds to the map legend in the Conservation Needs Assessment Technical Report, Version 5.x. The layer file may be added to a map document using Arcmap or ArcPro.
