History: Jackson County Maps


Jackson County Map 1839, Map of Florida that was, "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1839 by H. S. Tanner in the clerks office of the eastern district of Pennsylvania. The Adams-Onis Treaty (1819-1821) allowed inhabitants of Florida to become citizens of the United States. Andrew Jackson was appointed as Florida's first governor. Jackson County was founded in August of 1822 from Escambia County and became the third Florida county.
