The Florida Natural Areas Inventory maintains a comprehensive database of the ecological resources of Florida. The database includes more than 28,000 occurrences of
rare plant and animal species and high-quality natural communities throughout the state, more than 1,400 conservation lands managed by public and private agencies, boundaries
of environmental land acquisition projects, and other lands with potential natural habitat on site. Public agencies, private firms, non-profit organizations, schools, and
citizens from around the state and nation contact the Inventory daily to request this information, for an average of more than 1,000 requests each year.
Please take a moment to review the Inventory’s new Data Services policy. How is Inventory information used?

Site location: township range & section preferred; location maps are helpful. Why do we charge for some of our services? Although the Inventory is a non-profit organization administered by a state institution, we are funded solely through contracts and grants to perform specific environmental research and analysis services. While some of our contracts include funding to provide limited services to the public, we are unable to meet the demand from all of our potential clients through contracts and grants. We therefore charge for many of our products and services in order to cover the costs of providing those services. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. How do I pay for data services? The Inventory will email an invoice upon completion of your data request. Follow payment instructions on your invoice to remit payment. *As a part of the Florida Natural Areas Inventory's contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of State Lands, these fees are generally waived for public agencies. This service is subject to limitations. Fees are not waived for private firms with public clients. Rush Data Reports are not available as a free service.
