Welcome to the FNAI Butterfly Gallery

Through a State Wildlife Grant administered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Natural Areas Inventory is enhancing its database on the status and distribution of Florida's rare invertebrates. Butterflies represent an especially conspicuous group of invertebrates, both because of their visibility and the popularity of butterfly gardening. As part of its mission to disseminate ecological information on Florida's biological diversity, and drawing on data gathered in part via our State Wildlife Grant, FNAI has developed a butterfly gallery that highlights both the beauty and the diversity of Florida's butterflies.
